Interview with Choreographer Catrina Franco

Catrina was eight years old when she started dancing. Inspired by her sister, she ventured from studio classes to the cheer team in middle school and then to her high school dance team. Strong and ‘creepy’ modern styles inspire her to move.
Catrina is a dance major and plans to teach middle school students and eventually own her own studio.
The piece you will see in the showcase is a solo by Catrina in which she explores movement fueled by emotion.
Her favorite dance movie is the Cheetah Girls. She loves listening to Billie Eilish and watching heels videos by Aliya Janell.
