INTERVIEW WITH CHOREOGRAPHER JANAE CAIN

 

Janae Cain has been dancing on and off since she was 10. She realized her passion for it when she turned 14. Since then, she has focused on learning different dance styles to build a foundation in various techniques. She plans to earn her Associate's Degree in Dance before becoming a professional dancer/choreographer who travels the world. 

Impetus is defined as something that provokes or inspires an action or activity. Impetus is about Janae’s journey, how moving around so much during her youth impacted her identity. This piece shows how she lost her confidence and gained it back through motivation to change herself and not let others affect who she is.
