INTERVIEW WITH CHOREOGRAPHER MARISOL LOPEZ PEREZ
Marisol Lopez has been dancing for eight years. She has always loved to explore the performing arts. Dance has been the thing that she kept on coming back to, so she has decided to pursue it. She has danced to jazz, modern, ballet, and tap. Her favorite styles are hip-hop and contemporary. She believes that dance has an emotional dimension: sometimes, it speaks louder than words. She finds dancing to be a beautiful mode of self-expression. Currently an ACC student, she wishes to transfer to a 4-year university to pursue her dance education further.
She describes her piece Wildfire as unique, bold, and fun. Each dancer is the fire, and in each duet, the fire gets bigger and bigger until it expands just like wildfire. She hopes this piece has a strong and bold impression. Pay attention to the consistent energy with the arms and hands.
